Donations to children’s home Philippines

Last month, Rudolf van Soelen, CEO of Electro Cirkel, traveled to the Philippines with his daughter Julia to visit the Sacred Heart children’s home, which the company has financially supported since its establishment in 1993.

During their visit they were given an enthusiastic tour of the home and surrounding area and made numerous trips with the children, including a visit to a water park nearby.

Back in the Netherlands a package was sent with supplies for the children and the school.

The Fransiscan Sisters of the Sacred Hearts Children’s Home is an initiative of the two van Soelen brothers Loek and Rudy, founders of Electro Cirkel, who were somewhat shocked by the life and unpleasant circumstances for some local children during their stay in the Philippines.

The home was built for children that, due to circumstances, can no longer live with their parents or no longer have any parents or guardians that can take care of them. At the moment 25 children and 4 supervisors live in the children’s home. The supervisors provide education, religion and personal growth of the children.

University of Rotterdam visits Electro Cirkel

Electro Cirkel is one of the partners of the Strategic HRM module of the Human Resource Management course at the Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences. A number of third-year students are asked to take a close look at the strategic HR policy of Electro Cirkel followed by a well substantiated recommendation.

Last Thursday the students visited Electro Cirkel. Useful questions were asked under the watchful eye of supervising teacher Anne Harm Berkema to help them gain a good understanding of the company. The business cases will be presented soon.

Our HR Officer Leslie Toorop is not unfamiliar with supervising college students. Previously, he was a teacher at the above mentioned university. “I was pleasantly surprised by the knowledge of these students and I enjoyed sharing the experiences of this company with them. That’s what  makes my HR heart beat faster! ”
